Coordinator of Maintenance Services
What you will do:
- Perform all phases of the construction, operation and maintenance energized or de-energized substation facilities, to include bus, switches, motor operators, insulators, circuit switches, PT's, CT's in accordance with LES procedures, policies, practices and safety rules. Install and operate special substation and transmission equipment. Assists with installation and maintenance of SCADA system. Perform manual updates, test equipment and technology
- Provide oversight and guidance on inspections and maintenance of distribution and transmission substations to include, switching procedures, various substation equipment, seasonal adjustments, testing, inspecting, maintaining control panels, oil circuit re-closers, voltage regulators, capacitors, breakers, and mobile substations; records maintenance on all fuses and breakers. Resolve technical problems and informs logistics to order materials as necessary
- Perform switching operations in substations
- Assist Power Line Technicians in troubleshooting to include, transmission, load management and substations to assure availability to members
- Assist in development of work plans and budgets related to substation maintenance and construction.
- Maintain records of performed work, time materials, and equipment as directed. Orders projects materials and supplies to ensure availability to power line crews
- Investigate and resolve complex department issues. Resolve equipment issues with manufacturers. Operates and maintains substations facilities
- Associate's degree Electronics technology, electrical engineering, substation technology or related field Required or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- 8-10 years' Experience in construction and maintenance of electric distribution and transmission lines Required
- Strong competence in applying basic theories and principles involved in electrical maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting and organizational skills are crucial.
- Must have knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Must have a working knowledge of RUS construction specifications, which include all residential service, commercial services, single phase, two phase, and three phase line construction.
- Ability to install and use technical software to program and test electronic relays, meters and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, staking sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, electrical and electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to perform power system calculations including voltage, current, impedance, power, transformation ratios and three phase voltage and current resultants.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw solid conclusions. Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Valid Driver's License Upon Hire Required
